Welcome

I love making things. Fabric, yarn, fibre, paper, paint and print are my tools of choice. The necessities of life generally manage to get in the way of my need to create , so it all tends to get a bit erratic. Exactly as the blog title suggests.

Here is my attempt to organise things and keep a record of my efforts.

My little Folksy shop is taking a holiday for a while but I hope to re-open soon and sell things that I have made for the sheer pleasure, but are surplus to my needs.

Serendipity - or wool imitating life.

I am beginning to love the wool that I dyed at the "Black is the new Black" meeting at SpinDyeWeavers.

As it has dried the colours are emerging a little.

Although it did not have the dramatic quality of a sunset on the South African Coast, there is a certain resemblance to a Somerset morning in February!

or, Clevedon pier in winter.

So, although the result was not quite how it was planned, in fact, it has become something that I would have wanted it to be anyway.

Suffice to say, I went to see the exhibition of embroideries of The Gordano Fibre Artists in the delightful Toll House Gallery in Clevedon on Sunday and it was well worth the trip.

As we arrived in Clevedon, the rain stopped and we had a lovely chat with two of the artists who were working there.

We had a brief walk along the front and I enjoyed the dubious pleasure of a February picnic on a park bench, coupled with my annual intake of fizzy pop - a whole 500ml bottle of Dandelion and Burdock.

Wonderful!
