Rhubarb!
Rhubarb!
The possibilities are tantalising, crumble, tart, stewed, muffins, jam or maybe a pickle.
( Note to Lankakomero, in case you missed the political over tones - "Rhubarb! Rhubarb! Rhubarb!" is generally taken to mean the noises that politicians make. We have a new government - a coallition - so we are in unchartered territory for a while, hopefully we will not all be in even more of a "pickle" than we were already.)
However, sadly the rhubarb has flowered, it looks very pretty, but, I checked this out on the internet and it flowers because of lack of water, forgive me, but as I recall we had a wet winter. Oh dear! That must be me not looking after it properly. It will have to have some tender loving care this year.
We had some rhubarb pie last weekend, finally!
ReplyDeleteRhubarb leaves can be used for a mordant - I have been on the lookout for some - so if you are coming to any SDW meeting soon - could you bring some along?
