Welcome

I love making things. Fabric, yarn, fibre, paper, paint and print are my tools of choice. The necessities of life generally manage to get in the way of my need to create , so it all tends to get a bit erratic. Exactly as the blog title suggests.

Here is my attempt to organise things and keep a record of my efforts.

My little Folksy shop is taking a holiday for a while but I hope to re-open soon and sell things that I have made for the sheer pleasure, but are surplus to my needs.

Rhubarb - the state of the nation?

Rhubarb!

Rhubarb!

Rhubarb!

The possibilities are tantalising, crumble, tart, stewed, muffins, jam or maybe a pickle.

( Note to Lankakomero, in case you missed the political over tones - "Rhubarb! Rhubarb! Rhubarb!" is generally taken to mean the noises that politicians make. We have a new government - a coallition - so we are in unchartered territory for a while, hopefully we will not all be in even more of a "pickle" than we were already.)

However, sadly the rhubarb has flowered, it looks very pretty, but, I checked this out on the internet and it flowers because of lack of water, forgive me, but as I recall we had a wet winter. Oh dear! That must be me not looking after it properly. It will have to have some tender loving care this year.

  2. Rhubarb leaves can be used for a mordant - I have been on the lookout for some - so if you are coming to any SDW meeting soon - could you bring some along?
